Birthday Girls

My two most favorite little girls celebrated their birthdays today.
Miss M's first birthday was on the 16th and Miss A's fifth is on the 25th.

It was a small affair, but it was just the right size.  I hadn't seen the girls in a few months so it was certainly great to see them, and celebrating their birthdays was just an added bonus!

Miss A started school this year and tells me so far she loves it.  And Miss M now has 6 teeth and is walking like nobody's business.  They're growing up far too quickly, and I'm not sure I'm a fan of all this growing up business.

Enjoy some shots from today, of my two favorite wee ones.

Happy Birthday, kiddos!

My Memories Digital Scrapbooking Software: GIVE AWAY!

Let me start by saying I am not a scrapbooker, or really crafty of any sort.  Things tend to look great in my head, but it all comes unraveled when it comes to execution.

And the thought of scrapbooking seemed rather daunting:  paper, embellishments, choosing photos, printing the photos....it all seems like so  much work.  And it sounded expensive.  BUT, with My Memories Digital Scrapbooking it is all right there at your finger tips for you, in one easy download.  No fuss, no muss, and no glitter to have to vacuum up afterwards!

I was recently given the opportunity (thank you, My Memories!) to try out the My Memories Digital Scrapbooking Software.  I have to tell you it was actually pretty easy!  And fun!  When I said I wasn't crafty or a scrapbooker I wasn't kidding.  So if I can do it, you totally can!

Don't believe me? Well, the proof is in the pudding!

And because I had so much fun playing and putting together digital scrapbook pages, I want to give one of you the chance to win a copy of this great software (valued at $40)!  Really, I promise, it is free!  And more importantly ITS FUN!

So, you can enter more than once, and there are a few ways you can get your name in for the draw:

Calley & Kira

I recently had the opportunity to photograph two fabulous little girls:  Calley and her sister Kira (big brother Jarrod was away for a few days).   These two girls were so much fun to work with, they really are quite delightful!  I think I enjoyed just hanging out with them after the photos the most!  Seriously, two great girls!

Enjoy!

A few to view

I haven't gotten to edit the photos from the shoot with my friend and her fam-jam. It seems I had my camera set to shoot the photos in RAW.  Yeah, it turns out I can't open those files without Photoshop.   My great friend (for whom I took the photos) is hooking me up....so I just have to be patient awhile longer.

For now, here are just a couple randoms I took while I was on vacation.

Piping Plovers, anyone?

Back to Reality

My vacation is over.  Booo....I guess it had to end sometime.

My vacation went well.  Saw some old friends, spent time with family.  It was good.  Much needed.

My first photo shoot went surprisingly well.  Though I didn't think until afterwards that their cars are visible in the background.  Ooppss....Lesson learned! Oh well, their girls are adorable enough you won't notice the cars anyway!

As for the photos I'll hopefully find time over the next few days to get to editting them, then will naturally share with you all!

Until then...my new puppy and I are off to bed!
Ciao!

My First Photo Shoot

Yup, thats right.  My very first photo shoot will be taking place next week.

Now, for those of you who have kept up with my on Facebook (and for those who haven't....why not?!) know that I love taking photos of my nieces.  Honestly I think they are among the most photographed kiddos out there.   However, those photos have always been for my enjoyment, or that of the kiddlets' parents' and their grandparents (my parents). So if none of them turn out or I didn't feel like sharing I didn't have to.  I've never actually taken photos FOR someone before.  Now it counts.

My friend has enlisted me to take some shots of her kids, at least her two girls...it remains to be determined of her oldest, and only son, will willingly cooperate!  If not, it'll just be us girls.   The date has yet to be determined, as it'll depend on weather.

Its exciting and nerve wracking all at the same time!
Wish me luck!

Oh, and if any of you out there in photography land have any pointers....lay 'em on me!

Photo Ops

So, I am on vacation this week!  YIPPEE!!!  Its a much needed break.
Hopefully this week will bring some photo ops for me to share with the blog world!  However do note the sharing won't take place until the end of next week, possibly the beginning of the week following.

Stay tuned!

The Goodies

Ok, so I figured I should probably actually share some of my photos with you.  You know, seeing how this is a photo-based blog and all.

To start off I'd like to share some shots of two of my favorite things:  my nieces.  I'd move heaven and earth for these two if I could.  Enjoy!

Miss Blue Eyes

The lovely Miss A

And this is one of the first shots I took when I got my camera...

And yes I know flower photography has been done and done again.  However, they're all so unique and beautiful in their own way, they are one of my favorite things to photograph.

I'm back

I never intended to allow so much time to elapse between posts.  However, between a hectic work schedule last month, and other life goings on, my little blog here took a backseat for a few weeks.  But I'm back now!

view from cottage
I was lucky enough to have last week off from work (yeah, I have a pretty great boss) which took me home to my parents for a few days.  While I'm from a small town with not much to do, there is just something about hanging out where you grew up with the fam-jam that recharges your batteries.  It also allowed for poking around mom's gardens with my camera, and a trip to the family cottage.

This past weekend took me to Moncton to spend time with some friends and to take in the U2 concert (which was AMAZING I might add).  One of our first stops when I arrived was Butterfuly World.  What an odd, eerie place that was.  Fun, but eerie.  It apparently draws an eclectic crowd with young and the less young, and those with bleach blonde mega mullets.  It seems the butterflies were drawn to the mullet, she was covered in them.

Anywhoodle, I returned to work yesterday after a great week off.  And I promise (hopefully) to not let so much time go by between posts!

Welcome to PEP!

Greetings and salutations!

I see you have found me.  Well, let me take this opportunity to welcome you to my humble abode on the interweb.

Here I will, hopefully, update all my lovely followers on my photographic journies.  I will be the first to admit I am learning as I go, and when I started I had zero idea what I was doing.

Quite simply I love photography.  I always have.  My dad is quite artistic with his sketching, and my mom has the ability to craft and knit like nobody's business.  I however am not artistic in those senses.  Photography for me is more than just taking a picture:  if that were the case it would save a ton of time on editting!  For me it is taking a moment, no matter how short that moment, and saving it to savour later and for years to come.  I suppose you could say it is my creative outlet.

I hope to eventually put together a website as well, once I am able to figure out how to successfully do so.  Until then I hope you all make yourselves comfortable and follow me through here and my little home on Facebook:  Prints by Erin Page

Your's in photos,
